Our Big History course examines humanity over long, contextualized timeframes starting from the Big Bang to the dawn of trade on the silk road. These modules can be used on their own, or as a precursor for our world studies. 

Learning goals for this Book 4:

This book will introduces the formation of cities. Settling down, and producing excess accelerate the pace of change. It allowed populations to grow, and the emergence of larger, denser, and eventually more complex societies, such as the Roman Empire or the great empires of China, to develop. Topics we will cover include:
